Program Assistant

Sydney has been with UW since 2023, working first at a UW Medicine primary care clinic and then joining the AIMS Center in May 2024. Here, she supports the Implementation team for their Collaborative Care projects. Sydney is from Seattle but attended Boston College for her bachelor’s degree, which focused on clinical psychology, gender issues, and Africana studies. Her research experience has been both qualitative and quantitative – topics have included the association between hypermasculinity and violence among adolescents, the intersection of theology and Black feminism in the media, and the implementation of evidence-based trauma interventions for underserved youth. She has also worked extensively with survivors of sexual violence and continues to have a special interest in survivorship and trauma. Sydney’s passions include social and racial justice, health equity, and community well-being. She is also an avid writer, studying and enjoying technical and creative writing alike.
