
Elizabeth J. Austin, PhD, MPH is a Senior Research Scientist in the Department of Health Systems and Population Health, School of Public Health at the University of Washington. She received her MPH in Sociomedical Sciences from Columbia University and PhD in Translational Health Sciences from George Washington University. She also completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Implementation Science from the Center for AIDS Research at Johns Hopkins University.
Dr. Austin has worked to implement and evaluate mental health care delivery for over 15 years, including several prior and current projects in collaboration with the AIMS Center that expand Collaborative Care to new patient populations and settings. She is an NIAAA-funded K01 recipient whose research focuses on the intersection of stigma, mental health, and substance use disorders. She has methodologic expertise in implementation science, particularly to support the integration of patient-reported outcome measures at the point of care and has co-led multiple workshops and training symposiums focused on enhancing patient and provider use of patient-reported outcome measures to support measurement-based care.
