Wyoming Peer and Prescription Review

Printer-friendly version

UW psychiatrists are providing consultations and prescription reviews to Medicaid providers in Wyoming, a state with a severe shortage of specialists. Consultations focus on complex cases and clinical reviews are aimed at patients identified by the Wyoming Department of Health as needing particular attention. These reviews include collaborative discussions with the treating provider along with more detailed reviews of clinical presentation and medication response history. These peer consultations and prescription reviews occur directly with prescribers of psychiatric drugs about Medicaid patients, not directly with the patients themselves.
