Understanding the experience of care managers and relationship with patient outcomes: the COMPASS initiative.

This evaluation of the care manager experience in the Care of Mental, Physical and Substance-Use Syndromes (COMPASS) initiative found that care managers who were able to devote more time to collaborative care duties correlated to improved patient health outcomes. Researchers of this article propose several recommendations for the successful implementation of a collaborative care program as they relate to care managers.
