The Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine (APM) 2017 annual meeting will include presentations from many of the AIMS Center faculty:
- Wednesday, November 8: Anna Ratzliff, MD, PhD and Hsiang Huang, MD, MPH will be leading a pre-conference skills course on "Applying the Integrated Care Approach to Deliver Collaborative Care." This course is presented by the American Psychiatric Association and uses a combination of didactics and interactive skills exercies to provide psychiatrists with the skills needed to use an evidence-based integrated care approach.
- Friday, November 10: Lydia Chwastiak, MD, FAPM, Will be the lead speaker in a workshop aimed at providers interested in doing research in psychosomatic medicine.
- Saturday, November 11: Joseph Cerimele, MD, MPH, and Amritha Bhat, MBBS, MD, MPH, are part of a group presenting on "Improving Care for Women with Bipolar Disorder in Primary Care and Obstetrics Settings Through Consultation: Progress, Challlenges, and Potential Solutions." The presenters will first explain the background, highlight the challenges, and give recommendation for the screening and care of women diagnosed with bipolar disorder during the pregnancy and postpartum period. Following the presentation there wil be a breakout session with case-based discussions.
February 22-24, 2018 | 15th Annual American Psychosocial Oncology Society Meeting | Tucson, AZ
Jesse Fann, MD, MPH will be presenting a symposium titled, "Implementing the Collaborative Care Model to Deliver Population-Based Psychosocial Oncology Care" at the 15th Annual American Psychosocial Oncology Society (APOS) meeting. The theme of this year's APOS meeting is centered around emerging models of collaborative cancer care and looks to advance psychosocial science and practice in oncology.
