Wayne Bentham, MD
Wayne Bentham, MD has been a consultant and trainer with the AIMS Center since its inception. Dr. Bentham completed his undergraduate studies in psychology & neurosciences at Princeton University, and received his MD from Howard University School of Medicine. He completed residency training in Internal Medicine and in Psychiatry at Georgetown University and University of Washington, respectively. Dr. Bentham was on faculty at University of Washington School of Medicine, department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences for 10 years. He is currently a practicing psychiatrist at Affinity Behavioral Health in Appleton, WI.
Dr. Bentham has interest in the management of mental health care in non-mental health settings in both local and global arenas. He has served as trainer and consultant to REACH NOLA, a collaborative of academic, health care, and community organizations dedicated to creating and supporting resources to treat those suffering with depression and PTSD in New Orleans in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina. He has consulted on integrated mental health projects in Nigeria. He has been a psychiatric consultant in the Mental Health Integration Program, part of a mental health benefit program in Washington State.
