Implementing collaborative primary care for depression and PTSD

Printer-friendly version

As the first randomized effectiveness trial of behavioral and mental health conducted within the US Military Health System, the STEPS-UP (Stepped Enhancement of PTSD Services Using Primary Care) intervention builds on  the RESPECT-Mil (Re-Engineering Primary Care Treatment of PTSD and Depression in the Military) Collaborative Care intervention model that has already been implemented throughout many Army primary care clinics. STEPS-UP will be used in 18 of those clinics and this trial will compare its effectiveness to the usual model of Collaborative Care that was previously implemented.
